St Davids Church Circa 1920's. Architecturally Designed by Louis Williams.
They say a Mothers love knows no bounds. This beautiful church is testament to just that.
Mrs Anna Boston tragically lost her daughter Alice at the age of just 16. Being part of one of the wealthiest Tasmanian families in the 1920’s she donated the land and the funds needed for this stunning “Memorial” to be built in her daughters honor and memory. Louis Williams a well known church architect was enlisted to design the church and over 100 years later this beauty is still a sight to behold.
Located just a few minutes walk or drive to gorgeous sandy beaches, Burnie Public and Private hospital, a multitude of schools and the Burnie CBD, Cooee is a suburb gaining popularity fast.
The church is currently being used as a Yoga/Wellness center but offers a range of uses based on the next owners desires (and of course STCA).
The main hall and bell tower is truly stunning, and has been restored beautifully. Combining Axminster carpet, polished timber, Gothic inspired Hammer Beam ceilings with new Hunter fans, a huge wood heater and stunning stained glass throughout. The Church also comprises of several offices which the current owner leases separately, plus a Nave- which was being used as a consultation room for clients. This area also has a powder room toilet.
Very uniquely you can also live on site with an attached studio flat, complete with open plan living, bedroom, full kitchen and updated bathroom.
The block is just over 2000m2 and has plenty of space for parking and there is a new triple garage/workshop with adjoining annexe.
Your imagination just runs wild with this unique property. Keep it as an alternative/wellness centre. Look at maybe opening a gallery or converting it into a full residence (stca).
